The 1964 Mercedes-Benz Unimog S404.1 Doka (Double Cab) is a highly desirable, rare variant of the rugged 404 series military truck. This Doka features a very rare three-door cab designed to carry your whole crew. This model has a 2.2L inline-six gas engine. It is also 4wd and has the coveted portal axle design.
I bought this several years ago as a project truck but never finished it. My loss is your gain. Currently this is a non-running vehicle but was running two years ago (see video) after I replaced the starter and some ignition components. I also had the carburetor rebuilt. When I fired it up last time, the engine was strong, but the fuel system needs to be cleaned up and re-plumbed before restarting. The rear tires are undersized for this vehicle, but it was what I had available at the time. The interior is good, and the exterior is fair with rust present mainly on the radio box. One of the driver’s door hinge pins is broken, but I will include a replacement hinge I ordered from Germany as part of the sale. I will also include some OEM parts I have acquired over the past several years.
This project is pretty close to completion and could most likely be a running/driving Unimog with a couple of days of work.
