After more than 13 years of ownership, I’ve decided it’s time to let someone else enjoy my 1988 AM General M1038 HMMWV. Frame and floors are solid with no structural rust.
This truck has been titled in Illinois since 2013 and has always been maintained with reliability and originality in mind rather than being heavily modified. It retains its military character with the original NATO camouflage, aluminum military doors, 24-volt electrical system, portal geared hubs, and deep-water fording/snorkel equipment.
Powered by the legendary 6.2L Detroit Diesel V8 backed by the TH400 automatic transmission, the truck starts easily, runs well, shifts properly, and is a pleasure to drive.

The truck presents honestly with the expected cosmetic wear of a genuine military vehicle. It has scratches, paint wear, and small dents consistent with nearly four decades of military service. I have intentionally left it largely original rather than restoring or modernizing it.
The odometer has been replaced at some point in its life. The displayed reading should not be considered actual mileage.
