1989 Ex USAF truck w/360cid V8 EFI (electronic fuel injected), auto trans, slightly over 70,000 original miles, was stationed most of life at Lackland AFB (see phone magnet list photo), served at Ft Hood for some time, then was sold by military as surplus in early 2000’s to a private individual who never titled or drove the truck. The truck sat in a field under a cedar tree (which protected the interior) untouched til I bought it in 2021. To get it going, we replaced the following: brake MC, pads, & wheel cylinders, bled brakes, fuel pump/filter drained/cleaned tank, exhaust, manifold cover gasket, 1 fuel injector, installed factory radio (working), new rear brake light lenses, door weather seals, misc small stuff. Tires are 4 years old (i bought new) and about 1/2-tread left. This truck starts on first crank of key and runs like a top. Will do 70mph no prob down the road. No A/C, just a heater which works Great!
Truck bed on passenger side has some dents as well as pass lower door. Misc small dents and ding throughout, pintel hitch hole area on bumper has been cut out for some reason?. The paint on this truck is all original exept the hood which I painted a year ago but its sun faded. The paint will shine with a good buffing and wax job and while it might look good repainted, I think it will look better with the original patina and just some good scrubbing. Dash has no cracks, interior is probably 75%. Seat cover is covering original seat with vinyl splitting/cracking & good cushion. Floor rubber covering is original and pretty good cond. There is NO rust in the cab, frame or body. There IS some rust on the drip line of the roof (bubbles, see roof pic along drip line) but no rust thru yet.
I use this truck nearly daily mainly because of its huge bed, it’s my haul ebay packages to town truck. So, it’s been driven by me quite a bit, approx 6k miles in the last 3 years in short increments. This truck can be driven home or can be driven onto a transport. I caution people about driving old vehicles home long distances as that is a risk.
Truck was never titled until I bought it and applied and received a bonded title (see photo). TXDMV & TX Public Safety stolen vehicle law enforcement task force does extensive search/inspections on records/vin and found no previous private ownership-thus they issued me a title. I can assist loading. Pick-up in Burnet County, Texas. Customer pays all freight costs. I will store free for 1 month, but storage fees of $100/mo will apply after that. Also, if not picked up w/in 6/mo the vehicle will revert back to me and any payment made will be none-returnable. *NO WARRANTY IMPLIED OR EXPRESSED, AS-IS.
