Up for sale is my AM General M998 HMMWV. I had this truck for a while, bought second hand WITHOUT a title however I do have the bill of sale from the government and bill of sale from the previous owner. I’ve had this truck for about 7 years or so, bought it non running and quickly discovered its a prototype hmmwv. Hood opens inverted from standard hmmwv’s, engine is a VT275 international V6 Turbo Diesel, turbo is from a Porsche, has electronic mirror, throttle, and more goodies. If you look in the pictures hard enough you’ll see little odd things that don’t normally belong on hmmwv’s (tail lights for example). I got it running after a bit of research and getting the right parts, had it going for a couple weeks then a “torque tube” snapped in the bellhousing causing it to be immobilized. Thats a custom part that I never got around to getting repaired. So far the transmission is out and all the parts are still with it. The engine technically runs and the transmission works fine, just the torque tube is the issue. The alternator mounts to the torque tube that snapped, since the engine is wider, the alternator wouldn’t fit under the hood I’m assuming so they mounted it under the truck on that torque tube. I’m going to assume that’s where the issue lies. It’s all there and when it was running it was very quiet and snappy acceleration, would be very cool to get it operational again however its out of my expertise and I’m tired of looking at it.
