This 5 ton with ROPS (Roll Over Protection System) is the best 5 ton model the military built. There were only 400 of these trucks made for the military to evaluate. The changes made to these trucks are extensive, a roll cage was integrated into the new reinforced cab and air ride seats were added. It has a better dash layout and removable roof panel for a gunner position. These trucks are less noisy and more comfortable to drive than any other 5 tons. It has gone through an overhaul in 2011 when the new cab system was installed and it’s in excellent running condition. This is the most maneuverable of the 5 ton series and has shortest wheelbase. A nice custom option is to remove the fifth wheel plate and install a 10 foot cargo bed to make a short cargo truck and 53 inch tires can be added for a tougher stance
