As a 30 year veteran of the Army, I had to have a Hummer. Not a civilian model, but one like I spent many hours in over my time in the service. This Military Hummer is a professionally restored 1987 HMMWV M998 with a powerful 6.2L diesel engine. This vehicle is ready to go and would make a great addition to any collection. It was manufactured in the United States by AM General and comes with no warranty. The manufacturer part number is NG3400.

The vehicle was purchased through military surplus and has been professionally restored by a museum approved antiquity restoration specialist. The vehicle shows little use and is one of the late model 1987 production troop carriers with the Serial Number 039214 (with the last 1987 model serial number of 043000). This vehicle was deployed to Desert Shield and Desert Storm in 1990 and 1991. The speedometer was replaced because of the speed wasn’t showing. It isn’t a high mileage Hummer, but the title and SF sales form comes with odometer reading show NA. I have a video of it running it shows no blow by and the diesel operating normally with gauges warmed up (S. It always starts on the first crank.

After restoration, the vehicle has not been used in any off-road use and has been warehouse stored. We exercise it by taking it for a drive to keep seals and all moving parts in good condition. The professional restoration shop replaced all of the parts those of us remember wearing out (ball joints, bearings, switches, etc.). This vehicle has been made completely street legal and is presently insured for use on public roads. It runs out smooth, without blow by and vibration.

The radio and MSRT tray is removed to give you more room in the front, but is included in the sale. Also included are additional repair parts, new canvas doors (I leave them off as it is stored indoors) and the original uncomfortable seats. It also has the command and control dual antenna mounts on the rear of the vehicle with both dual military whip antennas. With the exception of the installed seats (which I picked for comfort for use in parades and military events), the vehicle is all original with no body damage or filler repair. We picked the paint color as black to accent the desert tan doors and roof, while allowing use for multiple service organizations and a reminder of our POWs. We wanted a vehicle that different flags could be flown on the sides, on the whips and be used for all types of events.

This is the perfect vehicle for use by the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and American Veterans (AMVETS), all of which I am a Life Member. One could also use this in homecoming parades or any other event where a convertible car or truck might be used, but with the flair of honoring those who served.

If you wish to purchase and want a handrail for someone to stand in the rear, I can have a handhold installed that can be removed. I will charge only the cost to have it manufactured, painted and installed.
