Up for sale is my 2010 General Dynamics M1161 Growler ITV-LTV 4×4 with 2389 original miles

Those of you who have landed on this auction, most likely know what the General Dynamics M1161 Growler is all about- for those who don’t, here is a little background on the M1161General Dynamics ITV-Light Strike Vehicle 4×4:

The Growler is powered by a Navistar 4-cylinder, 2.8-liter turbocharged diesel engine, developing 132 hp. Engine is mated to General Motors 4-speed automatic transmission. The M1161 is a technologically advanced vehicle which has slow-speed, four-wheel steering (although rear steering systems are spot/tack welded prior to resale for civilian use- this is easily ground off for functional operation). A central tire inflation / terrain mobilization system is fitted as standard equipment and includes Kneeling, Cross Country and Highway modes (all at the push of a button) . Vehicle has run flat rims and tires and can still travel about 30 km once the tyre is flat. Without preparation the Growler can ford water obstacles up to 0.76 m deep.

We have taken the time to have our entire Growler prepped, spot sanded and professionally painted. I have owned numerous military vehicles over the past 20 years and this is one of the cleanest (if not the cleanest) ones I have owned yet. We have the original seat cushions and both front windshield/wiper assemblies- these were removed in preparation for painting and I will reinstall them prior to delivery.

Every aspect of this M1161 is in solid operational, functional and cosmetic condition. Every element of this vehicles runs and operates as you would expect. All four tires inflate and hold air properly. A few of the CV boots will need to be replaced at some point. Fluids are good and the trans and motor have zero issues (No fuel, oil, trans, or coolant system leaks). Those of you familiar with ownership of the Growler, understand that these little beauties come with inherit and periodic nuances- this is part of the unique element of ownership of a vehicle so rare and what makes it so fun to own and drive (right from the training field to your garage)!

One of the questions I consistently get is “can this vehicle be registered for on-road use?” Every state is different, so be sure to check with your individual state. In most states, it has been my experience that the Growler has been relatively painless to register/title/and plate for on road use (I have titled my own in Oregon for on road use). It is factory equipped with LED turn signals, side marker indicators, brake lights, running lights etc. There are also forums and websites dedicated to such topics (i.e., www.dirtlegal.com).
